PJ Gurumohan PhD, Co-Founder & CEO
PJ manages the overall strategy and operations, with an emphasis on growing the brand and business.
He developed the first version of GENWI MobilePresence publishing platform. Prior to GENWI, he developed a Social RSS reader that was one of the top 10 RSS readers in the world. He was also a key member of the team that developed one of the first versions of Togetherville, a safe social networking site for children and GluTV, a video delivery platform. He has held various engineering and market analyst positions at IBM, Arizona Tech. Enterprise, and US Airways.
He holds a PhD and a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Arizona State. He owns two patents related to wireless networking and has authored several journal articles and presented at numerous technology and industry conferences.
Rahul Patel, Co-Founder & CTO
Rahul helps define the GENWI product strategy and oversees technology and engineering developments.
Before joining GENWI, Rahul was Vice President of Server Technology at Oracle Corporation where he was responsible for Enterprise 2.0 and Portal platform that included several industry-leading products such as Oracle WebCenter, WebLogic Portal, WebCenter Interaction and Oracle Portal.
Prior to Oracle, he was responsible for data integration and XML/XQuery technology development for BEA Systems & held senior level positions at other Enterprise Software companies including Sun Microsystems, Sybase, and Versata.
He holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Florida.
Raju Sagiraju, Co-Founder & Director of Products
Raju is a co-founder of GENWI. Raju helps define GENWI’s business strategy and oversees product management.
Raju developed the intitial GENWI business strategy and helped define the product packaging, pricing, and marketing. He was also instrumental in securing partnerships with university news publications and marquee media companies.
Prior to GENWI, he co-founded YourQuad.com. Yourquad aimed to build a social network revolving around sports and clubs amongst high school students.
He is maverick who enjoys nothing more than the challenge of creating a product and establishing a business model overnight. He is passionate about basketball and may be the LA Lakers' biggest fan. He is continuing to complete his undergrad at San Francisco State University.
John Hoye, Vice President Business Development
John leads the GENWI business development and sales efforts.
A well-rounded software technology executive with over 20 years of experience in sales, business development, software development and services, John has been a key contributor helping companies grow from start-up phase to public offerings or successful acquisition.
Prior to joining GENWI, he established the Western U.S. business for GlobalLogic as Vice President of Western Operations, generating $30 million in revenue for the company. John also served in various executive and management roles in areas such as product management, alliances (building partnerships with Accenture and IBM Global Services), channel development, and software development at companies including Versata, Action Technologies and ViewStar (now Global 360).
John's passion is for all things technical with a particular bent towards mobility. He is a published iPhone/iPad developer and an active Board Member of Sequoia Technologies IMS. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Jishnu Bhattacharjee
Jishnu is a principal at Nexus Venture Partners, a leading venture capital firm in India and US, investing in innovative early to early-growthstage companies. He brings several years of investing and operating expertise in hi-technology start-ups. His interests span software, cloud computing, internet, digital and social media, mobile, and systems. Jishnu’s investments include Cloud.com (acquired by Citrix), Gluster (acquired by Red Hat), Vdopia, Kaltura, Druva and GENWI.
Jishnu is an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he ran the Venture Capital Club and co-led GSB Principal Investing Conference. Jishnu also holds an MS degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a BTech from IIT Kharagpur, and is an inventor of more than a dozen US patents.
Kanwal Rekhi
Kanwal is a well-known and respected entrepreneur and venture investor in both Silicon Valley and India.
He has been CEO of a venture-backed companies three times, was the first Indo-American to take a venture-backed company public on the NASDAQ, co-founded and built TiE, the largest global network of Indian entrepreneurs, and co-founded Inventus to devote his full energy and experience to establish a leading US-India venture franchise.
He holds a BSEE from IIT-Bombay and a MSEE and Honorary Doctorates in both Business and Engineering from Michigan Tech. He founded the Kanwal Rekhi Schools of Information Technology at both IIT-Bombay and Michigan Tech.
Manish Chandra
Manish Chandra was the chief executive and co-founder of Kaboodle, Inc., a shopping Web site where people recommend and discover new products. He provided strategy and vision for Kaboodle, which Hearst acquired in 2007, while overseeing new product ideas and managing its business operations and revenue.
Prior to Kaboodle, Chandra was vice president of worldwide marketing at Versant Corporation. Prior to Versant, he served in various roles at Versata, including vice president of marketing and product strategy; he was part of the executive team that took Versata public in March 2000. He also spent time in research & development and product management roles at Sybase and Intel.
Chandra holds a bachelor’s degree from IIT Kanpur, India, an MS in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Haas Business School at the University of California Berkeley.

Gordon Yamate
Mr. Yamate served as Vice President and General Counsel of Knight Ridder until its acquisition in June 2006 by The McClatchy Company in a $6.5 billion stock and cash merger. Prior to the sale, Knight Ridder was the nation’s second largest newspaper publisher, where Mr. Yamate was responsible for company-wide legal affairs and a member of the company’s management committee.
Prior to joining Knight Ridder in September 2000, Mr. Yamate was vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Liberate Technologies, a leading Silicon Valley-based software infrastructure company that developed software for accessing the Internet through TV set-top boxes and other Internet appliances.
Prior to joining Liberate in March 1999, Mr. Yamate was a partner in the Silicon Valley offices of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen (now Bingham McCutchen), where he specialized in corporate, securities and intellectual property law, representing Fortune 50 and emerging high technology companies.
He received his law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law and his undergraduate degree in economics and political science from the University of California, Davis.
Clarence Wooten
Coined a "serial entrepreneur" by Entrepreneur Magazine in February 2000, Clarence has launched and operated numerous
technology-based companies since founding his first, Envision Designs. In 1993, Clarence co-founded Metamorphosis Studios,
an interactive multimedia development firm, where he served as CEO and Creative Director until early 1998 when the company
was acquired by MediSolv, Inc.
Clarence also co-founded and served as CEO of ImageCafe.com. ImageCafe was acquired for $23
million by Network Solutions/Verisign in November 1999, just seven months after it launched.
Clarence is currently founder and CEO of Groupsite.com, a leader in social collaboration with over 40,000 companies and organizations as customers
and co-founder of Arrived Inc., a stealth-mode mobile startup launching during the first half of 2011.
He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Forbes ASAP, and Entrepreneur Magazine and has been a guest on CNNfn
and other media outlets. His entrepreneurial experiences are the subject of a Babson College case study.
Clarence has a B.S. in Business Management from the John Hopkins University and currently serves on the Dean’s Alumni Advisory Board for its Carey Business School.
Additionally, Clarence serves on the board of trustees of Philadelphia University and several other non-profit organizations.
